Rene Lalique’s ‘Chrysis’ was originally designed as one of thirty car mascots or hood ornaments designed to mounted on the radiator cap of 1930’s classic roadsters. The Chrysis mascot was introduced in March of 1931.

The name Chrysis comes from Greek Mythology where Chrysis was the priestess of Hera at the sanctuary of Hera at the time of the Peloponnesian War around 430 BC.
